Since is the June holidays and is coming to the end real soon! We've decided to treat these children to a joyride to Suntec City and to watch Toy Story 4! It was really a heart warming sight to see the kids enjoying themselves with their beautiful smiles and chirpy voices! Big thanks to Community Chest Singapore and TOUCH Young Arrows for giving us the opportunity to sponsor movie screening and joyrides for the children and families.😍

Happy faces from the recipients! Here's wishing all our Muslim members and friends Selamat Hari Raya!
Background of Project Joy for Ramadan (fasting month) Yayasan MENDAKI (Council for the Development of Singapore Malay/Muslim Community) is a pioneer Self-Help Group formed in 1982 dedicated to empower the community through excellence in education, in the context of a multi-racial and multi-religious Singapore. Beyond its primary role in uplifting the community through education, Yayasan MENDAKI has in the past 15 years given back to the community through their signature Ramadan charity drive known as Project Joy. During the fasting month of Ramadan, staff from MENDAKI together with volunteers of all races and ages, set out to visit and deliver our gift of Ramadan - a hamper of basic healthy necessities and grocery vouchers to families. These families are poor and disadvantaged families with school going children. Once the goody bags were packed and distributed. SCCS had spent a meaningful Sunday on 13 August by participating in this Food Bank Charity Drive where we had to distribute rations (contributed by Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society) to 250 families staying in Ang Mo Kio HDB rented flats. Lots of first time experience for the members and their families who came along to help out. Check out the video below! Lucas Allan from Hope Drive Singapore, together with a group of students from ITE West, approached SCCS to co-organize an event for the less fortunate youth from Beyond Social Services. He proposed to have a car meet for the public and a drive for the kids. They have never experienced being in a super/exotic/sports car and they hope for this moment to inspire hope and give them the drive to work their hardest to succeed in life. SCCS members took the kids for a 30 minutes ride from Kallang Leisure to the service centre at Whampoa. Though is a short ride but it is impactful on the kids as they have next to nothing in their lives. Thank you to our Sponsor - Ah Ma Cooks Pte Ltd, the children, volunteers and drivers had a great lunch after the drive! And also thank you to our Sponsor Exquisite Technique for the decals! This picture speaks a thousand words - is a picture FULL of SMILES.
