Miles For Smiles - 15 July 2017 (Co-Organizer)

15/7/2017

Picture
Lucas Allan from Hope Drive Singapore, together with a group of students from ITE West, approached SCCS to co-organize an event for the less fortunate youth from Beyond Social Services. He proposed to have a car meet for the public and a drive for the kids.
They have never experienced being in a super/exotic/sports car and they hope for this moment to inspire hope and give them the drive to work their hardest to succeed in life.

SCCS members took the kids for a 30 minutes ride from Kallang Leisure to the service centre at Whampoa. Though is a short ride but it is impactful on the kids as they have next to nothing in their lives.
Thank you to our Sponsor - Ah Ma Cooks Pte Ltd, the children, volunteers and drivers had a great lunch after the drive!
And also thank you to our Sponsor Exquisite Technique for the decals!

Waggy CarWash 2016 - 26 March 2016 (Supporting Partner & Participant)

Picture
Picture
On the 26 March 2016 (Sat), SCCS proudly supported Hope for Animals, a small but very active group of young individuals dedicated to promoting awareness on the adoption of animals. It has recently come to attention that many privately run welfare shelters along Pasir Ris Farmway face possible evictions when their land-lease expires in 2017 and hence would have to look for more expensive alternative locations and operating costs.

We came together for our canine friends in this charity car wash to raise funds for these 7 shelters:

SOSD (Save Our Singapore Dogs)
CAS (Causes for Animals)
Uncle Khoe's K9
Exclusively Mongrels
Friends of Seven (F7)
OSCAS (Oasis Second Chance Animal Shelter)
Animal Lovers League

The first ever charity car wash organized by Animal Concerns Research and Education Society of Singapore (ACRES) on the 14th of December 2014 to raise funds to help end animal cruelty. Together with Minister of Manpower Tan Chuan-Jin and Minister of State Desmond Lee, the Chief Executive of ACRES Louis Ng, other members of ACRES, everyone armed themselves with pails, sponges and chamois to keep the army of bikes and cars coming in spanking clean all in the name of charity.

A registered charity organization and an Institution of Public Character founded in 2001, ACRES has a vision of a world where animals are treated compassionately and respectfully. Their mission is to create a caring and socially responsible society where animals are treated as sentient beings and they hope to drive forward a collaborative and sustainable animal protection movement within Asia.

As an animal welfare organization driven by their concern for animals, ACRES adopts research projects on the use of animals in various fields. Such findings are then used to educate the general public to promote active community involvement in the animal protection movement, and to engage in partnerships with the authorities and related parties.
